As a faculty member and mentor, I am honored and excited to be representing one of the Nation’s “top 10” MFA Ceramics Programs at The Asterisk Gallery. In my view, the Asterisk is one of the most progressive, independent and interesting exhibition spaces in the Midwest. This is due in large part to Dana Depew’s ability to cultivate unusual visions, themes and mixes of talent.

“Terminal Degree” was organized with the intent to provide an important professional outlet for a dynamic group of emerging Ohio artists who have the opportunity to present their work to a new audience in an established yet progressive gallery outside the university setting.

The Master of Fine Art, Ceramics Program at Ohio University is committed to developing individuals who challenge contemporary standards while producing work of exceptional craftsmanship. The Program prepares artists for competition in the complex, professional ceramic art world. The exploration of ideas and materials is encouraged in order to foster an atmosphere of diversity. The faculty and students’ combined roles are committed to keeping the trajectory of contemporary ceramics moving forward.
